All are open to students at any level, from entering freshmen undergraduates to Ph.D. students and post-doctoral fellows. The American Meteorological Society, American Geophysical Union, and a couple of other organizations recently launched a free mentoring program called Mentoring365. Undergraduate and graduate students as well as post-doctoral fellows are all eligible to be a mentee. This three-month program allows you to be paired with a willing mentor of your choosing.

The AMS Board for Early Career Professionals sponsors a variety of events throughout the year, including informational webinars accessible through their Facebook site, perspectives from early career professionals (also available on their Facebook site), networking events at the AMS Annual Meeting and specialty meetings throughout the year, and the new Early Career Leadership Academy.

The National Weather Association runs a monthly webinar series called "Webinar Wednesday," highlighting applied research and educational resources across meteorology. They also run an occasional "Day in the Life" series, featuring actual meteorologists sharing what it's like to be in a wide range of jobs across the field. Interested in a private sector career or looking to make a connection in the field but don't know where to begin? The AMS Board for Private Sector Meteorologists runs an annual mentorship program pairs undergraduate and graduate students with professionals to encourage skill development, information exchange, and networking. Each year's cohort is typically selected early in that year. Semi-regular webinars events typically focus on relevant skills and private-sector careers. Finally, their Facebook page features monthly conversations with younger private-sector meteorologists plus regularly updated job postings.
